Praia do Barril can be reached on foot via the footbridge over the water at Pedras d'el Rei where you can take the nostalgic train. Praia de Barril is known among nature lovers and naturists. In the summer a boat takes you from the boulevard to Praia da Terra Estreita.

In the summer there is a pleasant bustle on the beach, in the winter it is wonderfully quiet .. and you can walk for hours on the without meeting anyone.

If you want to soak up some culture or dive into history, Tavira, also known as the artist city or art city of the Algarve, is only 4 kilometers away.  There you will also find a number of large supermarkets and a shopping center, the Gran Plaza. Fresh products can be found at the 'Mercado Municipal', the daily market.

The Algarve is of course known for its golf courses.  Some of the Algarve's golf resorts are among the best in the world and can be reached in less than an hour.
